Just extract it directly from the zipfile to your system directory. The system directory looks something like c:\windows\system\ or c:\winnt\system32\ or a combination of both, depending on your OS.
What probably happened is that an application messed up your file associations for screensavers. As I am told Autocad is notorious for doing that.
