Reply: Thanks Matt, and I do hope someday to fuse the two sides into one project. As far as the expressions, it will indeed require training at first. As with any language, the associations between the word and the object/action etc is abstract, and I will teach the construct the basic relationships between a word and an emotion (ie the word "fear" would evoke an appropriate expression of concern). But by reading stories in which the terms are linked together in logical ways, the VIM will learn more complex associations on its own. For example "fear" and "dark" might be found, as well as "dark and night", from which the matrix could speculate as to a relationship between "fear and night" without having ever read it. As with all the projects, there is a lot of try it and see with this one, but I'm hoping the results will be interesting and express intuition as to the correct expressions. |
