...of how many downloads there are of each version of VIM40? I'd be interested to know how relatively unpopular Cornelius is when compared to his pneumatic counterpart.

And thanks, Michael! I'm enjoying the final version. My first impression is that the painting has developed further since the beta! I look forward to watching the matrix evolve.

Thanks Matt, I'm really curious about that too. Larry Cloud, the king of bandwidth who's hosting the VIM downloads might have a line on that, and I'll be able to tell from the site stats in a few days.

I can search through the server logs and see what sort of numbers show up, hang on a sec.

OK, since the new ones went up late Wednesday night, there have been 79 accesses to those two zips (its about 4pm Thursday afternoon now). Once word gets out that the new ones are available then those numbers will probably skyrocket.

TIA

Just to let you know Michael, I am putting both of them up on my site this weekend. Plus, I am also going to add a page for VI Raptor, and for those of you who want to send me a pic, the picture page is about ready to go up, send them to ftp://www.digitalbrilliance.net/VIMPics/
Anyway, Michael, the water is still a checkerboard pattern instead of being transparent.

As of this moment:

J522 - 167 unique IP downloads (there were many dupes so I have to count manually)

Cornelius - 104 unique IP downloads.

Total as of 7:33pm Pacific Time, since release:
271 downloads.

That's about what I guessed the ratio would be, but I'm really surprised at the numbers. VIM33 had +40,000 downloads the first night. The net is definitely changing, game sites don't cover programs in screensaver format much anymore, I guess the novelty of the graphics is wearing off. Just means I need to get it out to other sites I suppose.

My site doesn't have the international exposure sites like 3dfiles.com had - I'm sure with some more "exposure" the numbers will take off.

Yeah 3DFiles was a great site, and Tim there always help out the gippo developers. But some other sites are starting to put it up and I'm sure it will get around.

Well, I now have a whole new QFlux section on my site. From the home page, click on 3D in the personal section. VIM 33d, VIM 4, and Sticky are all available for download. Plus my program has been released today as well. Check the site out Michael, and let me know if you see some changes that need to be made. Transfer rates for cable run about 150 kb to 220 kb per second.

Here's a link for you Michael:

http://www.voodoofiles.com/filesubmit.asp

The site is pretty popular and you can have your files up fairly quickly, with the exact wording you want.

Download.com used to be popular, I probebly would have discovered the VIM project sooner if it had been listed there. BTW, how did everyone find their way to the VIM project? Personally, I was intrigued by a screenshot of Sticky when he was featured at MegaGames.com and decided to investigate.
